TEGO Foamex 8050 is a Siloxane-based-based defoamer for waterborne systems manufactured by Evonik Industries AG (Germany), part of the TEGO Foamex product line.
How It Works
TEGO Foamex 8050 enters and spreads across the foam lamella, displacing the stabilizing surfactant film. The hydrophobic particles (silica or wax) in the defoamer puncture the thinned lamella, causing bubble collapse. Emulsion-type grades provide long-term foam prevention; concentrate grades give immediate knockdown.
