Concrete Form Release Agent (Mold Oil)
Concrete form release agent (mold oil) is applied to formwork surfaces to prevent concrete from bonding to the form, ensuring clean, defect-free stripping and prolonging the life of formwork. Modern release agents are available in chemical reactive (fatty acid-based), barrier (oil-based), and water-based emulsion types. The choice of release agent significantly affects the surface finish quality of the formed concrete.
Technical Specifications
| appearance | Light amber to colorless liquid or emulsion |
| flash point (°C) | ≥62 (oil-based) |
| active content (%) | 30±5 |
| pH (emulsion type) | 7.0-9.0 |
| coverage rate (m²/L) | 15–30 |
Applications
- Steel and aluminum formwork for columns and beams
- Timber formwork for walls and slabs
- Precast concrete mold treatment
- Tunnel formwork and slip forming
- Decorative and architectural concrete formwork
Key Features
- Ensures clean, defect-free release for high-quality surface finishes
- Extends formwork service life by preventing buildup and corrosion
- Water-based emulsion types available for low VOC compliance
- Reactive grades form a chemical barrier rather than an oil film
