Nicotinic Acid (Niacin) Feed Grade

CAS Number: 59-67-6

Nicotinic acid (Niacin, Vitamin B3) is a water-soluble B-vitamin essential for NAD and NADP coenzyme synthesis involved in energy metabolism and redox reactions in all animals. Ruminants require additional dietary niacin during the transition period to prevent negative energy balance and ketosis. Our feed-grade nicotinic acid is produced with high purity and offers excellent stability in mineral-vitamin premixes.

Technical Specifications

appearanceWhite crystalline powder
purity (%)≥99.5
pH (1% solution)2.7–3.5
heavy metals (ppm)≤10

Applications

  • Dairy cow transition diets to reduce ketosis incidence
  • Swine and poultry premixes as niacin equivalent source
  • Stress reduction supplement in heat-challenged livestock
  • Aquafeed for tryptophan-limited diets where niacin cannot be synthesised
  • Ruminant bypass niacin supplements for high-yielding cows

Key Features

  • High purity ≥99.5% for accurate inclusion in premix formulations
  • Nicotinic acid preferred over nicotinamide for ruminant applications
  • Thermal stability allows use in pelleting and high-temperature processing
  • Economical vitamin B3 source approved in all major feed markets
