Tolyltriazole Silver and Copper Protector (TTA)

CAS Number: 29385-43-1

Tolyltriazole (TTA) is a methylated derivative of benzotriazole that provides superior silver and copper tarnish inhibition with improved thermal stability and lower volatility compared to BTA. TTA forms a stable chelate film on silver and copper surfaces, making it the preferred metal deactivator in engine lubricants, industrial coolants, and hydraulic fluids operating at elevated temperatures. Its higher boiling point makes it particularly suitable for high-temperature metalworking and lubrication applications where BTA may volatilize.
