Activated Carbon (Gold CIP/CIL Grade)

CAS Number: 64365-11-3

Gold-grade Activated Carbon is used in Carbon-in-Pulp (CIP) and Carbon-in-Leach (CIL) gold recovery circuits to adsorb gold-cyanide complexes from cyanide leach solutions. High-surface-area granular activated carbon provides efficient gold adsorption kinetics and high loading capacity, allowing gold to be concentrated for subsequent elution and electrowinning recovery. The carbon is regenerated by thermal reactivation for multiple reuse cycles, making it a key consumable in gold processing operations.

Technical Specifications

appearanceBlack granules (4×8 mesh typical)
abrasion resistance (%)≥96
BET surface area (m²/g)≥900
gold adsorption rate (mg/L·min)≥35

Applications

  • Gold-cyanide complex adsorption in CIP and CIL circuits
  • Silver recovery from cyanide leach solutions
  • Carbon columns for heap leach solution gold recovery
  • Precious metal polishing and final solution clean-up
  • Reactivation and regeneration in carbon management systems

Key Features

  • High BET surface area delivers superior gold-cyanide loading capacity
  • High hardness and abrasion resistance extends carbon service life
  • Consistent granule size ensures uniform flow in CIP/CIL tanks
  • Thermally reactivatable for multiple use cycles, reducing total cost
