Carbomer 940 (Carbopol 940)

CAS Number: 9003-01-4

Carbomer 940 is a high-molecular-weight crosslinked polyacrylic acid polymer that forms clear, high-clarity gels when neutralized with an appropriate base such as triethanolamine or sodium hydroxide. It is the most widely used gel-forming rheology modifier in the cosmetic industry, providing excellent thickening, suspension, and stabilization in clear gels, serums, and emulsions. Its high clarity makes it preferred for transparent formulations.
