Carbon Nanotube Additive

CAS Number: 308068-56-6

Carbon nanotube (CNT) additive is a multi-walled carbon nanotube (MWCNT) concentrate formulated for easy incorporation into coatings, polymers, and composites to impart electrical conductivity, mechanical reinforcement, and thermal enhancement. The surface-functionalized grade ensures improved dispersion stability and interfacial adhesion with polymer matrices. At loading levels of 0.5–3 wt%, CNTs form a conductive network that enables electrostatic dissipation, EMI shielding, and significant improvements in tensile strength.

Technical Specifications

purityMWCNT ≥95 wt%
appearanceBlack powder or masterbatch pellets
outer diameter10–20 nm

Applications

  • Electrostatic dissipative (ESD) coatings and flooring
  • EMI shielding compounds for electronics housings
  • Thermally conductive encapsulants and thermal interface materials
  • High-strength lightweight structural composites
  • Conductive adhesives and printable electronics

Key Features

  • Enables electrical percolation threshold at very low loadings (0.5–1 wt%)
  • Surface-COOH functionalization available for enhanced polymer matrix compatibility
  • High aspect ratio (>500) maximizes reinforcement per unit weight
  • Thermal conductivity improvement up to 3× vs. unfilled polymer matrix
