EDTA Chelating Agent for Water Treatment
CAS Number: 60-00-4
Ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA) is a highly effective chelating agent used in water treatment to sequester calcium, magnesium, iron, and other metal ions, preventing scale formation and metal precipitation. In boiler and cooling water systems, EDTA softens water on-line, removes existing scale deposits, and prevents metal contamination of process streams. It is also used in membrane cleaning formulations.
