Hydrophobic Impregnant for Masonry
CAS Number: 78-08-0
Hydrophobic impregnants for masonry are penetrating water-repellent treatments based on silane or siloxane chemistry that deeply impregnate porous mineral substrates (concrete, brick, natural stone) to render them water-repellent without forming a surface film. They preserve the natural appearance and vapor permeability of the substrate while dramatically reducing water absorption and chloride ion penetration. These treatments are used for the protection of facades, historic buildings, bridges, and coastal structures.
