Joint Compound Additive
Joint compound additives are polymer binders and rheology modifiers incorporated into gypsum-based or polymer-based joint compounds used for finishing drywall and plasterboard seams. They improve workability, open time, crack resistance, and adhesion of the joint compound to paper tape and gypsum board substrates. These additives enable smooth, sandable finishes with minimal shrinkage and are essential in lightweight joint compound formulations.
