Styrene Monomer for Emulsion Polymerization
CAS Number: 100-42-5
Styrene Monomer for emulsion polymerization is supplied at ≥99.5% purity with TBC inhibitor at 10–15 ppm and is the core hard monomer for styrene-acrylic, styrene-butadiene (SB), and ABS latex systems. It provides rigidity, gloss enhancement, and elevated Tg in polymer blends. Due to the retarding effect of TBC on radical polymerization, formulations should account for inhibitor scavenging via excess initiator or inhibitor removal prior to use.
