Nitrilotriacetic Acid (NTA) Sequestrant
CAS Number: 139-13-9
Nitrilotriacetic acid (NTA) is a trisodium or free acid chelating agent used as a sequestrant and scale inhibitor in industrial water treatment, detergent formulations, and pulp bleaching. It chelates calcium, magnesium, iron, and other metal ions, preventing scale formation and improving detergent performance. NTA is a more biodegradable alternative to EDTA in certain applications.
