Sodium Diethyldithiocarbamate (SDDC)

CAS Number: 148-18-5

Sodium Diethyldithiocarbamate (SDDC) is a selective dithiocarbamate collector used in the flotation of copper, nickel, and precious metal sulfide minerals. It exhibits strong chelating properties with heavy metal ions, making it highly effective for activating and collecting oxidized and mixed oxide-sulfide ores. SDDC is also used as a secondary collector to improve recovery in copper and gold circuits at lower reagent dosages.

Technical Specifications

appearanceWhite to off-white crystalline powder
purity (%)≥98
moisture (%)≤1.0
pH (1% solution)9-11

Applications

  • Copper and nickel sulfide mineral flotation
  • Gold and silver bearing ore recovery enhancement
  • Oxidized and mixed oxide-sulfide copper ore processing
  • Heavy metal ion removal in process water treatment
  • Activation of poorly floating sulfide minerals

Key Features

  • Strong chelating selectivity for copper, nickel, and precious metals
  • Effective on both sulfide and partially oxidized ores
  • Works synergistically with xanthate-based collector systems
  • Low dosage requirement for significant recovery improvement
