Aerogel Powder for Thermal Insulation Coatings
Número CAS: 7631-86-9
Nano-porous SiO₂ aerogel powder (CAS 7631-86-9) engineered for direct incorporation into thermal insulation coatings. Thermal conductivity 0.012–0.020 W/(m·K), porosity >90%, BET surface area 600–800 m²/g. Three particle size grades: fine (1–20 µm) for thin-film coatings ≤0.5 mm, medium (20–100 µm) for standard insulation coatings 0.5–3 mm, coarse (100–300 µm) for insulation renders and mortars. Hydrophobic surface treatment (contact angle >140°) is the standard grade for waterborne and solvent-based coating systems — prevents re-agglomeration and moisture re-absorption after formulation. Recommended loading 5–15 wt%; pairs with hollow glass microspheres for the dual-scale system achieving 0.030–0.035 W/(m·K) at significantly lower cost than pure aerogel systems.

Características Principales
- Lowest thermal conductivity of any particulate coating additive: 0.012–0.020 W/(m·K)
- Knudsen-effect nano-pores (2–50 nm) suppress gas-phase conduction at atmospheric pressure
- Three particle size grades for films from < 0.5 mm to mortar renders > 20 mm
- Hydrophobic surface treatment prevents re-agglomeration in waterborne systems
- Ultra-wide service range −200 to +650°C — single additive covers cryogenic to high-temperature
- Compatible with waterborne acrylic, epoxy, silicate, and silicone binders
- Drop-in addition for hollow glass microsphere formulas — no binder reformulation required
- Pairs with HL Series microspheres for dual-scale system at 44% of pure aerogel cost premium
