Adhesion Promoter Silanes (KH-Series)
Amino (KH-550 / A-1100), glycidoxy (KH-560 / A-187), methacryloxy (KH-570 / A-174) silanes that bridge inorganic substrates (glass, metal, silica) to organic polymers (epoxy, polyurethane, acrylic). The KH-series is the workhorse of adhesion-promotion chemistry — substrate primer in coatings, surface treatment for fillers, reactive intermediate in adhesive bonding. Direct functional equivalents to Momentive Silquest A-series, Evonik Dynasylan, and Shin-Etsu KBM/KBE series.
Rubber Compounding Silanes (Si-69 / Si-75)
Sulfur-functional silanes — Si-69 (Bis-TESPT, tetrasulfide) and Si-75 (Bis-TESPD, disulfide) — bond silica filler to SBR / BR / NR rubber via S–S bridges, enabling the silica-tread technology pioneered by Michelin. Drop-in alternatives to Evonik / Wacker / Shin-Etsu equivalents. Used at 6–10% on silica weight in green-tire compounds.
Fiber & Filler Couplers
Substrate-specific silanes engineered for glass fiber (E-glass / S-glass), aramid (Kevlar), natural fiber (hemp, flax, cellulose), and mineral filler (talc, mica, CaCO₃) surface treatment. Applied during fiber sizing or by formulator at 0.3–1.5% on filler weight. Improves wet-strength retention and matrix-filler bonding in GFRP, BMC, SMC, and natural-fiber composites.
Crosslinker Silanes
Reactive silanes that introduce vinyl, methoxy, or epoxy functionality for downstream crosslinking — vinyltrimethoxysilane for XLPE cable insulation grafting, methoxysilane for moisture-cure adhesive and sealant systems, and 3-glycidoxypropyltrimethoxysilane for epoxy-modified silicone hybrids.
Industrial Surface Treatment & Compatibilizers
Specialty silane technologies for metal passivation (chromate-free phosphate-silane alternatives meeting REACH SVHC), polyolefin compatibilization for mineral-filled PP and HDPE, and recyclate compatibilizer chemistry for closed-loop plastic recycling.
