Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLES)

Número CAS: 68585-34-2

Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLES) is the most widely used anionic surfactant in personal care and household detergent formulations worldwide. Produced by ethoxylation of lauryl alcohol followed by sulfation and neutralization, SLES delivers excellent foaming, fast wetting, and strong detergency while being significantly milder than its non-ethoxylated analogue SLS. Available as AES-70 (70% active, paste) and AES-28 (28% active, liquid) grades for flexible manufacturing.

Especificaciones Técnicas

Sodium Chloride≤1.5% (AES-70)
Unsulfated Matter≤2.0%
pH (10% solution)7.0–9.0
Active Content (AES-28)26–30%
Active Content (AES-70)68–72%

Aplicaciones

  • Shampoos and hair conditioners (primary surfactant)
  • Body wash, shower gel, and liquid hand soap
  • Dishwashing liquids and kitchen cleaners
  • Bubble bath and foam bath formulations
  • Industrial and institutional (I&I) cleaners

Características Principales

  • SLES delivers best-in-class foaming performance and foam stability across a wide temperature range
  • Milder than SLS due to ethylene oxide chain — suitable for daily-use and sensitive skin formulations
  • AES-70 paste grade enables concentrated formulation manufacturing to reduce transport costs
  • Broad compatibility with amphoteric, non-ionic, and cationic surfactants for synergistic formulations
