Beta-Naphthol (2-Naphthol)
CAS Number: 135-19-3
Beta-naphthol (2-naphthol) is a foundational phenolic coupling component used in the synthesis of a broad range of azo dyes, particularly naphthol-based textile dyes (Naphthol AS) that are padded onto cotton and then developed with a diazonium salt on-fabric. It is also used as a starting material for antioxidants, fungicides, and naphthalene sulfonic acid derivatives. Chemzip provides industrial-grade beta-naphthol for dye and chemical manufacturers.
