Polyalphaolefin Drag Reducer / Flow Improver
Polyalphaolefin (PAO) drag reducer is a high-molecular-weight viscoelastic polymer that significantly reduces turbulent friction losses in crude oil and refined product pipelines, increasing throughput by 10–60% or reducing pump energy consumption. It is supplied as a slurry dispersion for easy injection into pipelines and is effective at concentrations of 2–20 ppm. Compatible with most crude oil types and refined petroleum products.
Technical Specifications
| appearance | White to off-white slurry dispersion |
| polymer content (%) | 20–30 |
| molecular weight (× 10⁶ g/mol) | 5–20 |
| viscosity of slurry (mPa·s, 25°C) | 500–3000 |
| drag reduction efficiency at 10 ppm (%) | ≥20 |
