Zinc Phosphate Anticorrosion Pigment
CAS Number: 7779-90-0
Zinc phosphate is a non-toxic, lead-free anticorrosion pigment used in protective coatings for oilfield equipment, pipelines, offshore structures, and industrial steel. It functions through multiple mechanisms: barrier effect, cathodic protection from zinc ion release, and phosphate passivation layer formation on metal surfaces. At 10–30% pigment loading in epoxy, alkyd, and polyurethane primers, it provides 1500–3000 hours salt spray resistance.
