Nucleating Agent

Nucleating agents are additives that increase the rate of crystallization in semi-crystalline polymers such as polypropylene and polyethylene by providing heterogeneous nucleation sites. This results in smaller, more uniform crystal structures that improve stiffness, clarity, heat distortion temperature, and dimensional stability. Organic sorbitol-based clarifiers also serve as transparency-enhancing nucleating agents.
