Silane Coupling Agent Si69 (TESPT)
CAS Number: 40372-72-3
Silane Si69 (bis(triethoxysilylpropyl)tetrasulfide, TESPT) is the benchmark bifunctional silane coupling agent for silica-filled rubber compounds, particularly green tire treads. It chemically bonds precipitated silica to the rubber polymer matrix, dramatically improving reinforcement, reducing hysteresis, and lowering rolling resistance. Si69 also acts as a sulfur donor during vulcanization, contributing additional crosslinks.
