Allyl Glycidyl Ether
CAS Number: 106-92-3
Allyl glycidyl ether (AGE) is a bifunctional reactive monomer combining an allyl group for radical or metathesis polymerization with an epoxide group for crosslinking or ring-opening reactions. AGE is used to introduce crosslinkable epoxy functionality into silicone polymers, acrylic latexes, and natural rubber, and as a reactive modifier for epoxy resins.

Applications
- Epoxy-functional silicone polymer synthesis
- Crosslinkable acrylic latex modification for improved adhesion
- Natural rubber reactive epoxidation and modification
- Epoxy resin reactive diluent with reduced viscosity
- Bifunctional coupling agent for glass fiber and mineral fillers
Key Features
- Dual radical-polymerizable and epoxy-crosslinkable functionality in a single small molecule
- Low molecular weight enables deep penetration into fiber and filler surfaces for coupling
- Epoxide group crosslinks with amines, carboxyls, and anhydrides for flexible cure chemistry
- Low viscosity reduces epoxy resin formulation viscosity for improved workability
