2-Ethylhexyl Acrylate
CAS Number: 103-11-7
2-Ethylhexyl acrylate (2-EHA) is an ultra-soft acrylic monomer with a Tg of approximately -70°C, offering greater plasticization and tack than n-butyl acrylate. It is extensively used in high-performance pressure-sensitive adhesives, plastisol-free flexible coatings, and specialty elastomeric copolymers requiring excellent low-temperature flexibility.

Applications
- High-tack pressure-sensitive adhesive formulations
- Flexible exterior masonry and elastomeric coatings
- Automotive underbody and anti-chip coatings
- Medical and skin-contact adhesive tapes
- Low-temperature sealant and elastomer applications
Key Features
- Ultra-low Tg (-70°C) for superior flexibility and tack at low temperatures
- Bulky side chain reduces polymer crystallinity for improved elastomeric properties
- Excellent hydrolytic stability compared to shorter-chain acrylate esters
- Plasticizer-free approach to flexible coatings eliminates migration concerns
