Hindered Phenol Antioxidant for Lubricants

CAS Number: 68411-46-1

Hindered phenol antioxidants are radical chain-terminating antioxidants that donate hydrogen atoms to peroxyl radicals, interrupting the autoxidation cycle and dramatically extending lubricant service life. Compounds in this class, including 2,6-di-tert-butyl-4-methylphenol (BHT) and high-MW polymeric hindered phenols, are used across engine oils, hydraulic fluids, and turbine oils. They synergize strongly with aminic antioxidants to provide balanced primary antioxidation at all severity levels.
