Amine Phosphate Antiwear Additive

CAS Number: 61789-79-5

Amine phosphates are ashless antiwear additives formed by the neutralization of phosphoric or phosphorous acid with fatty amines, delivering effective wear protection without contributing zinc or other metals to the formulation. They are particularly valued in zinc-free hydraulic fluids, environmentally acceptable lubricants (EAL), and applications where ZDDP is restricted. Amine phosphates also provide rust inhibition and mild acid neutralization, making them multifunctional components in hydraulic and circulating oil formulations.

Technical Specifications

Applications

  • Zinc-free and ashless hydraulic fluids for environmentally sensitive applications
  • Compressor and vacuum pump oils requiring antiwear without metal content
  • Turbine oils and circulation system lubricants
  • Biodegradable and environmentally acceptable lubricants (EAL)
  • Metalworking fluids needing corrosion inhibition and antiwear

Key Features

  • Ashless and zinc-free, ideal for formulating environmentally acceptable lubricants
  • Dual functionality: antiwear protection plus mild corrosion inhibition in one additive
  • Compatible with ester-based and biodegradable base oils for EAL formulations
  • Effective at low treat rates (0.2–1.0%) without adverse effects on demulsibility
