Lithium Difluorophosphate (LiDFP) Electrolyte Additive

CAS Number: 24389-25-1

Lithium difluorophosphate (LiDFP) is a multifunctional electrolyte additive that simultaneously improves both anode SEI quality and cathode surface stability, reducing impedance growth and extending calendar life. It is particularly effective in high-nickel NMC811 and silicon-containing cells at 0.5–2 wt% addition levels.

Technical Specifications

Fe (ppm)≤2
appearanceWhite crystalline powder
purity (%)≥99.5
moisture (ppm)≤30
free acid (ppm)≤50

Applications

  • NMC811/NCA high-nickel cathode stabilizing additive
  • Silicon-graphite anode electrolyte co-additive
  • Calendar life extension additive for EV batteries
  • Impedance reduction in cylindrical 4680 cells
  • Multi-additive electrolyte (with FEC/VC/PS)

Key Features

  • Dual functionality: simultaneously stabilizes both cathode CEI and anode SEI
  • Reduces charge-transfer resistance growth over long-term cycling
  • Effective at low doses (0.5–2 wt%), minimizing impact on electrolyte conductivity
  • Synergistic with FEC, VC, and PS for comprehensive electrolyte additive packages
