Subtilisin Protease Feed Grade

CAS Number: 9014-01-1

Subtilisin Protease is a bacterial serine endoprotease used in animal feed to improve protein digestibility, reduce anti-nutritional proteins such as trypsin inhibitors, and enable higher inclusion of alternative plant proteins in monogastric diets. It hydrolyses peptide bonds releasing additional digestible amino acids beyond what the animal's own protease enzymes can achieve. Our thermostable formulation retains activity through standard pelleting.

Technical Specifications

Applications

  • Swine and poultry feeds with high soybean meal or canola inclusion
  • Reducing dietary crude protein without compromising amino acid supply
  • Multi-enzyme complexes alongside phytase and xylanase
  • Aquafeed with soy protein concentrate or full-fat soy inclusion
  • Diets containing feather meal or other fibrous protein by-products

Key Features

  • Broad substrate specificity hydrolyses diverse dietary proteins effectively
  • Destroys heat-labile trypsin inhibitors reducing anti-nutritional effects
  • Improves ileal digestibility of all essential amino acids by 2–5%
  • Compatible with all common feed enzymes in multi-enzyme formulations
