Retinyl Palmitate (Vitamin A Palmitate)
CAS Number: 79-81-2
Retinyl Palmitate is an ester of retinol and palmitic acid, representing the mildest and most stable form in the retinoid family. Upon skin absorption it undergoes stepwise enzymatic conversion: retinyl palmitate → retinol → retinaldehyde → retinoic acid, progressively stimulating collagen synthesis, accelerating cell turnover, and reducing fine lines. Its oil-soluble, low-irritation profile makes it suitable for sensitive skin, eye serums, and daily-use night creams at 0.1–2%.
