Rubber Peptizer
CAS Number: 2492-26-4
Rubber Peptizers are chemical additives that accelerate the mechanical breakdown of natural rubber and some synthetic rubbers during mastication, reducing mixing time and energy consumption. The most common peptizer, Peptizer 420 (dibenzamidodiphenyl disulfide), cleaves polymer chains at radical sites created during mastication, rapidly lowering Mooney viscosity to the target processing level. Peptizers enable more consistent and efficient rubber processing.
