Sulfur (Rubber Vulcanizing Agent)

CAS Number: 7704-34-9

Sulfur is the foundational vulcanizing agent for natural and synthetic diene rubbers, forming polysulfidic crosslinks that provide elasticity, strength, and durability. Insoluble sulfur grades prevent sulfur blooming in uncured compounds and are preferred for tire ply and belt applications. Rubber-grade sulfur is available as powder, granules, or oil-treated forms for improved dispersion and dust control.
