Alpha Amylase Feed Grade

CAS Number: 9000-90-2

Alpha Amylase is a starch-degrading enzyme that hydrolyses alpha-1,4-glycosidic bonds in starch, improving starch digestibility and energy availability in animal feeds. It is particularly valuable in young animals with low endogenous amylase secretion, such as newly weaned piglets and young chicks. Our thermostable feed-grade alpha amylase maintains high activity through pelleting to deliver consistent performance in the animal gut.

Applications

  • Piglet starter feeds where pancreatic amylase is limited post-weaning
  • Chick starter diets to improve starch digestion in young birds
  • High-starch diets based on corn, wheat, or tapioca
  • Multi-enzyme complexes combining amylase with protease and phytase
  • Aquafeed for omnivorous species with starch-rich formulations

Key Features

  • Enhances starch digestibility by 3–8% in young animal trials
  • Thermostable formulation retains ≥85% activity after 85°C pelleting
  • Complements endogenous digestive enzymes in young animals
  • Produced by solid-state or submerged fermentation under strict quality control
