Acetyl Hexapeptide-3 (Argireline) is a synthetic hexapeptide derived from the N-terminal sequence of SNAP-25, a protein involved in neurotransmitter release, that inhibits muscle contraction signals at the neuromuscular junction to reduce expression wrinkles similarly to botulinum toxin but without injections. It is the most studied topical 'botox alternative' peptide. Used at 3–10% in anti-wrinkle serums and eye treatments.
