Bleaching Stabilizer
CAS Number: 68187-11-1
Bleaching stabilizer is a phosphonate or organic acid-based chelating agent that controls the decomposition rate of hydrogen peroxide in alkaline bleaching baths, preventing explosive decomposition caused by heavy metal catalysts and ensuring uniform, controlled bleaching of cotton and cellulosic fabrics. It chelates trace metal ions (Fe, Cu, Mn) that catalyze peroxide breakdown, improving bleaching whiteness and fabric strength retention. Essential in high-temperature continuous and batch bleaching processes.
