Optical Brightener for Textiles
CAS Number: 16090-02-1
Optical brightener for textiles is a stilbene or coumarin-based fluorescent whitening agent that absorbs UV radiation and re-emits it as visible blue-white fluorescence, dramatically improving the whiteness and brightness of textile substrates. It counteracts the natural yellowing of cotton, polyester, and synthetic fibers, making fabrics appear cleaner and whiter. Widely used in detergents, bleaching processes, and optical brightening finishes for apparel and home textiles.
