Chloroform (CHCl₃, Industrial Grade)
CAS Number: 67-66-3
Industrial-grade chloroform (CHCl₃, ≥99.0%) is a dense, fast-evaporating chlorinated solvent widely used for extracting natural products, as a reagent-grade solvent in chemical synthesis, and as a feedstock for HCFC-22 (R-22) refrigerant and fluoropolymer production. It is stabilized with ethanol or amylene to prevent phosgene formation.
