Composite Ionic Polyacrylamide (Amphoteric PAM) — VIT-FH Series
CAS Number: 9003-05-8
Composite ionic (amphoteric) polyacrylamide VIT-FH Series carry both anionic (carboxylate) and cationic (quaternary ammonium) functional groups in the same polymer chain, produced by terpolymerisation of acrylamide, sodium acrylate, and DMDAAC. The amphoteric character enables effective flocculation over a wide pH range, tolerance to charge reversal in variable-composition wastewater, and superior performance in complex industrial effluents where either a purely anionic or cationic polymer would lose efficacy. Solid content >88%; five grades (VIT-FH01 to VIT-FH05) span cation-to-anion charge ratios from 1:1 to 3:1.
Technical Specifications

Applications
- Complex industrial wastewater: textile dyeing, printing, and sizing effluents
- Pulp and paper mill white water and sludge dewatering
- Produced water with variable oil content and pH swings
- Coal and mineral processing circuits with mixed ionic environments
- Municipal sludge from combined industrial-domestic treatment plants
- Wastewater with surfactants or mixed-charge colloidal systems
Key Features
- Amphoteric polymer — dual anionic + cationic groups tolerate wide pH and ionic-strength swings without performance loss
- 5 grades (VIT-FH01 to VIT-FH05) with cation:anion ratios 1:1 to 3:1 — tunable for each wastewater matrix
- Superior performance in surfactant-laden or mixed-charge effluents where single-ionic PAMs fail
- Low residual monomer ≤0.05% — compliant with environmental regulations
- Works synergistically with APAM or CPAM in multi-stage or split-charge dosing programmes
