Oleic Acid Based Corrosion Inhibitor for Lubricants

CAS Number: 112-80-1

Oleic acid and its derivatives (including oleyl sarcosine, dioleyl phosphate, and amine oleates) are widely used as mild corrosion inhibitors, friction modifiers, and boundary lubrication additives in metalworking fluids, gear oils, and hydraulic lubricants. The polar carboxylic acid group adsorbs onto ferrous and non-ferrous metal surfaces, forming a protective monomolecular film that inhibits corrosion and reduces friction at low contact loads.
