Ammonium Sulfate Fertilizer

CAS Number: 7783-20-2

Ammonium sulfate is a granular nitrogen-sulfur fertilizer (21% N, 24% S) widely used in agriculture as a soil-applied nitrogen source and as a spray water conditioner for herbicide applications. As a water conditioner, ammonium sulfate chelates hard water cations (Ca²⁺, Mg²⁺, Fe³⁺) that antagonize glyphosate and other systemic herbicides, restoring full herbicide efficacy. It is particularly valuable in areas with hard irrigation water where herbicide performance would otherwise be compromised.
