Licorice Root Extract (Glycyrrhiza Glabra)

CAS Number: 97676-23-8

Licorice Root Extract from Glycyrrhiza glabra is standardized for glabridin and glycyrrhizin, powerful brightening and anti-inflammatory compounds that inhibit tyrosinase and prostaglandin production to reduce hyperpigmentation, redness, and skin irritation. Glabridin specifically inhibits UVB-induced melanogenesis, making it a particularly effective brightener for sun-induced dark spots. Used at 0.5–2% in brightening, anti-inflammatory, and sensitive-skin formulations.
