Mannich Base Nitrogen Dispersant

Mannich base dispersants are synthesized by the condensation of alkyl-substituted phenols with formaldehyde and polyamines, producing nitrogen-containing oil-soluble dispersants with excellent deposit control and sludge-dispersing capability. Unlike succinimide dispersants, Mannich bases offer superior high-temperature varnish inhibition and are particularly effective in gasoline engine oil formulations and turbocharged engine oils where oxidative deposit control is critical.

Technical Specifications

Applications

  • Gasoline engine oils requiring high-temperature piston and ring deposit control
  • Turbocharged gasoline direct injection (TGDI) engine oil formulations
  • Combined with PIBSI for balanced dispersant performance across temperature range
  • Fuel system deposit control additives for gasoline and diesel injector cleanliness
  • Two-stroke engine oils where high-temperature cleanliness is critical

Key Features

  • Superior high-temperature varnish and lacquer inhibition compared to succinimide dispersants
  • Excellent thermal stability enables effective performance in modern turbocharged engines
  • Complementary to PIBSI: Mannich base controls high-temperature deposits, PIBSI handles low-temperature sludge
  • Ashless nitrogen chemistry compatible with all base oil types and low-SAPS formulation requirements
