Textile stiffening agent is a starch, polyvinyl alcohol, or synthetic resin-based finishing auxiliary that imparts body, stiffness, and crispness to woven and knitted fabrics. It creates a film on the fabric surface that enhances dimensional stability, improves drape, and gives a full, boardy hand feel suitable for collar interlinings, hat brims, and formal apparel fabrics. Available in temporary (water-soluble) and durable (resin) grades.
