Citric Acid Membrane CIP Cleaner
CAS Number: 77-92-9
Food-grade citric acid is the preferred acidic cleaning agent for reverse osmosis and nanofiltration membrane chemical-in-place (CIP) cleaning to remove calcium carbonate scale, iron deposits, and metal hydroxide fouling. It chelates metal ions and dissolves mineral scale deposits without damaging polyamide thin-film composite membrane surfaces. Typically used at 0.1–2% solution at pH 3–4.
