Peracetic acid (PAA) is a fast-acting, broad-spectrum disinfectant and sterilant that is highly effective against bacteria, spores, biofilms, fungi, and viruses even at low concentrations and temperatures. It is widely used in food and beverage processing equipment disinfection, dairy CIP systems, and pharmaceutical sterilization. Its decomposition products (acetic acid, oxygen, and water) are environmentally safe.
