Carboxymethyl Inulin (CMI)
Carboxymethyl inulin (CMI) is a bio-based, biodegradable sequestrant and anti-scale polymer derived from inulin, a renewable polysaccharide sourced from chicory. It inhibits calcium carbonate and calcium sulfate scale formation in washing machines and dishwashers, replacing traditional polyacrylates in eco-certified formulations. CMI meets OECD 301 ready biodegradability requirements.
