Abamectin Acaricide and Insecticide

CAS Number: 71751-41-2

Abamectin is a natural fermentation product of Streptomyces avermitilis composed of avermectin B1a and B1b, acting as an insecticide and acaricide that activates glutamate-gated chloride ion channels in invertebrate nerve and muscle cells, causing paralysis and death. It provides contact and translaminar activity against mites, leafminers, and thrips, with long residual activity. Abamectin is widely used in vegetables, fruits, ornamentals, and cotton, and is a key component of IPM programs due to its minimal impact on most beneficial insects.
