Atrazine Corn Herbicide Active Ingredient

CAS Number: 1912-24-9

Atrazine is a selective triazine herbicide that inhibits photosystem II electron transport, blocking photosynthesis in susceptible broadleaf and some grass weed species. It is the most widely used herbicide in corn (maize) production globally, providing both pre-emergent and early post-emergent control of major broadleaf and grass weeds. Atrazine is frequently used in combination with other herbicides for resistance management and improved weed spectrum, and is particularly effective on pigweed, lambsquarters, and foxtail species.
