Paraffin Wax Anti-Evaporation Agent

CAS Number: 8002-74-2

Paraffin wax emulsion is used as an anti-evaporation and cuticle-sealing agent in agricultural sprays to slow water loss from spray droplets before they dry on leaf surfaces. By retarding evaporation, paraffin wax increases contact time of the spray solution with the leaf surface, enhancing active ingredient uptake. It is also used as a surface coating for harvested fruits and vegetables to reduce postharvest moisture loss and extend shelf life.
