Beta-Cyclodextrin Agro Encapsulant (Controlled Release)

CAS Number: 7585-39-9

Beta-cyclodextrin (β-CD) is a cyclic oligosaccharide with a hydrophilic exterior and lipophilic interior cavity capable of forming inclusion complexes with volatile, photolabile, or sparingly soluble pesticide active ingredients. In agricultural formulations, β-CD encapsulation protects sensitive actives from photodegradation and volatilization, enhances water solubility of hydrophobic compounds, and enables controlled release in soil or on plant surfaces. It is used for microencapsulation of essential oil biocides, pheromones, and thermolabile pesticides.
