Sodium Hypochlorite Water Treatment Biocide
CAS Number: 7681-52-9
Sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl) solution is the most widely used oxidizing biocide in water treatment, delivering free available chlorine for disinfection of municipal water, cooling towers, and swimming pools. It rapidly inactivates bacteria, viruses, and protozoa through oxidative cell damage. Supplied as 10–15% available chlorine solution for direct metering pump dosing.
