Chlormequat Chloride (CCC) Lodging Prevention PGR

CAS Number: 999-81-5

Chlormequat chloride (2-chloroethyltrimethylammonium chloride, CCC) is a quaternary ammonium plant growth regulator used to prevent lodging in cereals and oilseed rape by reducing internode elongation and strengthening stem cell walls. It inhibits gibberellin biosynthesis at the ent-kaurene oxidase step, producing shorter, sturdier stems with improved root development. CCC is a standard lodging management tool in wheat, barley, rye, and winter rapeseed production in Europe and Asia.
